PROJECT SUMMARIES

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS, CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS

  • Small Farm Management, Agribusiness, and Risk Management Program – provided technical assistance, training and asset acquisition assistance to 1,524 small farmers  in 21 production clusters,
  • Women in Agribusiness and Financial Literacy – provided technical assistance and training to over 148 women, ages 18 – 65,
  • Youth Entrepreneurship and Life Skill Program -  provided technical assistance and training to over 79 youth (boys and girls ages  13 – 25),
  • Rural Small Business Program - provided technical assistance, training, and asset acquisition assistance to 277 rural small businesses,  
  • Support Service to General Membership -  assisted 504 members in the areas of management, operations, marketing, trade, finance, business development services, housing, and literacy,
  • Marketing, Export Development, and Value-Chain Assistance Program – assisted over 395 producers, two local facilitating organizations, and two overseas distributors,
  • Value-Added  Production and Marketing  - supported 47 producers in a local cooperative to develop value-added markets for fresh cut (amaranths) greens,
  • New American (Immigrant) Farmers Home and Farm Land Initiative – assisted five (5) farmers in owning their first homes in the US and 23 in developing mini-farms on 48 acres of leased lands growing specialty crops, 
  • Global Education (Literacy), Entrepreneurship, and Enterprise Development Partnerships – through various international partnerships developed training, technical assistance, outreach and asset acquisition support to individuals and client organizations in over 15 countries,
  • Business Incubator Without Walls for Women, Youth (Boys and Girls) and Minority Veterans and Rural Business Operators – currently has 55 participants,
  • Renewable Energy  for Sustainable Communities and Environment Conservation (Solar, Solar-Wind Hybrids, and Sustainable Designs) Pilot Project for Small Farms -  89 producers,
  • Domestic and International Collaborators and Partnership Projects – consists of 34 entities including supernational organizations (e.g., USAID), universities (UF, ASU), industries, state and federal agencies (USDA [AMS, RMA, FSA, FAS, NRCS, NASS, RDA],  US Customs), research institutes (CARDI), NGOs (HPI), foundations and CBOs.
  • Youth Scholarship Program – provides scholarships to 11 and 12 Graders for SAT/ACT Preparation.
  • Youth Summer Program – Joint Partner with the Kiwanis Club of Sawgrass Sunrise in “Learning-in-the Sun:’ Life Building Skills and Entrepreneurship to over  100 Grades 3 through 12 youth: Using Financial Literacy, Geography, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Horse Back Riding, Bowling, Corporate Business Visits, Community Food Garden.
  • Education Supply Program – distribute text books and computers to high schools, orphanages and tertiary institutions overseas
  • Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Project: with clusters in  Selected Countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean  - Phase 1
  • Prosperity, Ethics, Peace, Democracy, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (PEP-DEED) for Future Leaders; Seeking partners to develop public-private partnership to training and hands-on demonstration to youth ages 14 - 25 the cornerstone of prosperity.
